Our Story and Legacy

Dane Publishing House, Inc. is a Filipino-owned educational publishing company committed to advancing Philippine education through high-quality, relevant, and values-centered learning resources. Since its founding on May 6, 1987, Dane has become a trusted partner of both public and private educational institutions nationwide.

Our Beginnings

Leonicia Marco-Llarena

The company was established by Leonicia Marco-Llarena, an educator with a passion for science education. Dane began with the publication of SciTech, a science and technology magazine that quickly gained positive response from subscribing schools, reaching an initial circulation of 80,000 copies. This success paved the way for further innovation in educational publishing.

Growth and Expansion

Dane has since resumed the publication of its flagship magazines—SciTech and Young Leader—and  introduced a new title, NextGen, which is focused on GMRC and Values Education.

In line with DepEd’s rollout of the MATATAG Curriculum, Dane has developed a new line of textbooks and was awarded eight (8) titles to be used in all public schools nationwide:

Resilience During the Pandemic

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in 2020, Dane prioritized the health and welfare of its employees. While magazine circulation was temporarily halted, the company kept its printing operations running to support various government printing offices in producing self-learning modules for nationwide distribution to public schools.
